I was informed this morning that Stephanie Brigati was injured while racing yesterday. I spoke with her family, and the update on her condition is as follows:

Stephanie is still in the ICU at Peconic Bay Hospital as of this morning, but her condition is stable. She stayed in ICU overnight last night, to make sure there was no internal bleeding. They are planning to keep her in the hospital for observation, probably until Tuesday. It is expected that she will be moved into a regular room sometime today.

Stephanie suffered a liver contusion, a lacerated liver, and a bruised lung. There were no broken bones.

The family would like to thank everyone for the quick response, and for all of their help and support.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery, Stephanie!

Steph your in my prayers girl! You took one hard lick out there yesterday. You were on the move and I was watching and taping until the first three karts started to swap the lead and began to focus on them. Next thing I hear is the crash. You are one tough girl to walk away with those injuries. You have great parents and boyfriend and friends to support you. Anything you need let us know! I'm glad you went to the hostipal when you did to get checked out.

Selah
in my prayers.

Its good to see she is much better and recovering at home. She is one tough cookie!! Times like these when someone gets seriously hurt is where it comes to reality that you should never take things for granted and be thankful for everything that you have in this life. Besides She needs to be 100% for next years racng season to root on Dave and Rob from turn 4 with the rest of the crew. :applause:

Wishing you a speedy recovery!!
