View Full Version : NSS Fatboy Challenge Live from Victory Lane Karting Charlotte, NC
It is 9:00 PM and the Fat Boys are arriving at the facility.
A few came early to watch the karters currently on the track and to build their strategy. One of them was the noted Sports Writer from The Hartford Courant.
Howie Hodge and Jim DuPont have their cameras out as they also look foir the strategic spot for candid photos. One spot may be the locker room as guys suit up.
Back a little later as the competitors get out on the track.
Denise DuPont
I do not see Brooksie here to officiate the Fat Boy challenge so they will just have to go with local officials
There is 16 minutes left to the race currently on the track so there will be a while before the Fat Boys get on the track

Great stuff here Denise....Is Fran going to fit in a kart?????
Also suiting up is postman and photographer Fran Lawlor and Speed51's one and only "Duke". Matt Kentfield
There are 11 Fat Boys in their racing gear and on the track ready to go
Just heard that Johnny Bush is in the #19
Here is the starting lineup
#16 Dukes (Matt Kentfield)
#19 The Bushman (Johnny Bush)
#18 Getusum*****
15 Tank
13 Ouch
6 Chromehorn (Fran)
14 Inkstain (Shawn)
2 Lucky
9 Puma
2 The Cook
1 Whoo!
The race has started and The Duke has the lead, since he started on the pole that was an easy one!
We are under caution as Puma in car #9 spun on the track
Here is the current standing - 15, 19, 15, 2, 18, 6, 13, 1, 14, 9, 3
This is only the warm up folks there is 21 minutes and 44 seconds left of racing
The Duke in car #51 has led the field in the warm up session
Next will be a 5 minute heat
Who ever has the fast time will select the pill for how many cars will be inverted for the race feature
Okay folks here are the fast times for Each Fat Boy from Practice session
Duke 51 - 35.072
The Bushman - 35.543
Lucky - 33.445
Tank - 35.489
Whoo - 33.272
Ouch - 36.183
Getchusum***** - 32.898
Chrome Horn - 35.392
Ink Stain - 35.243
Puma - 34. 935
The Cook - 38.489
The fast time averages of Duke 51 were effected by the strategy of the Ink Stain. Ink Stain intentionally blocked Duke 51 "I effected his (Duke 51) average time just like Robbie Gordon on a bad day", said Ink Stain as he grabbed he gear to suit up for Heat racng
Duke 51's average was 36.069 a drop from his fast time because of Ink Stain's blocking plan
For the heat events the officials have diced up the odds by forcing the competitors to all get in diferent cars. So they now go into compete leaving their favorite cars behind

Chrome Horn is being held back in 9th by Ink Stain
You should see how fast these Fat boys are moving around the track. They are working up a sweat and will have to get something to eat for sure after raicng to keep up their figures.

11 minutes down and the #7 car of the Cook has pulled in. Out of the race. Must have needed a snack
Car #17 spun but got himself back in the action using his feet to push off the tires
Texas Tornado ois up there in second position but just noticed he has his firesuit top off to provide him with the extra air that he needs to be a whirlwind on the track.
16 minutes down and Ink Stain has made his spot in the field in seventh spot
18 minutes of hard road course racing
4 minutes to go and Getchusum***** is still in the lead followed by the clse drafter of Texas Tornado
