Is the July 1st seekonk race the $10,000 to win ?

As far as I know the July 1 is the open wheel Wednesday show moved up earlier in the month because Stafford has a mid week show towards the middle of the month.

Also read that the Aug 22 date actually belongs to Seekonk and not Monadnock.

Let's hope its on a warm night!

Also, any word on the conflict between Stafford and Twin State?

I'd rather see Twin State go up against Martinsville, or at least run the True Value race on the Saturday instead of the Sunday.

I've heard that Wiscasset's date will not be the 15th, that Waterford will have that night along with the Supers. Wiscasset's date isn't definite but tentatively for Labor Day weekend.

Also, heard of All Star and Waterford having shows in May.

That's certainly good to hear. I very much enjoyed the "Wings and Wheels" show at the Speedbowl last season.

So with Thompson releasing their schedule, does that mean the True Value modifieds will not be scheduling a race there this season?

The changes from the schedule that was originally handed out are (this is from the schedule I got from the December meeting.....

May 9th Waterford Speedbowl
May 16th All Star Speedway
June 20th Thompson Speedway (tentative date)
August 8th Beech Ridge Speedway
August 15th is now Waterford Speedbowl
Sept 5th Wiscassett Speedway
TSS is a one day show
Seekonk is probably going to be a one day show....Sat.
Working on Lee to be a one day show too.

Did I read that right? Seekonk a one day show? Is that the race in October? And on a Saturday? Great idea if true, as that schedule is way too long on Sunday.

TSS ?? One day show? Is that Twin State ? Wasn't that a one day show last year?

They are trying to run the DAV Memorial race on Saturday to lower the expense for the teams and help draw more people to the track on Saturday I think is the intension.

Yes TSS was a one day show last year, but they just wanted to tell everyone it is staying the same because it is a weekend event. Should be pretty cool. 4 cylinder Friday, Fendered Saturday and open wheel Sunday.

I hope they do that. I think it would be a great thing. It would definitely draw more of a crowd on Saturday. And definitely make Sunday not as long a day for everyone.

My vote is still for a second All-Star race on the September Cup weekend.
Although, any weekend for All-Star would do.

keep the Waterford date open as it's looking worse for the prospects of opening. Although listening to Rocco Arbetel on the radio he sounds like he have fun running the bowl.

I couldn't help but notice that TVMS removed the Seekonk Open date from the schedule when the added Thompson and the second Twin State. It probably means nothing but why remove it if it was already there?

The Truevalue Mods will be running a 75 lap race on Thursday June 18th

Got it from the ThompsonSpeedway web site

Yes, any one know why the Seekonk date was removed from the True Value schedule? I realize its not a points race, but was it removed for any other reason?

Also, am I assuming correctly that the Wiscasset race is no longer on the schedule?

I copied this from the Waterford Speedbowl website:

2009 Season Safe - Foreclosure Extended

Speedbowl management has successfully petitioned the Superior Court of New London to postpone the possible foreclosure sale of the facility until October 31st of this year. The Court had previously set March 7 as the sale date. This new schedule effectively ensures that the 2009 racing season will be completed.

"This gives us valuable time to arrange permanent financing and at the same time it protects the financial interests of all the parties involved", said Terry Eames, track owner and promoter. "We still have a lot to do to bring the 'Bowl back to its former glory, but, with this news and the fantastic support we are getting from the racing community, the job gets easier every day", Eames added.

I saw that, but in the courant it also said that Rocco was going to appeal so who knows once the lawyers get involved.....
