Enduro racers from all over the Northeast will once again invade Mountain Speedway in St. Johns, Pennsylvania on Saturday, January 3rd...to celebrate the new year, and more importantly, to kick off the 2009 racing season at the popular 1/3 mile asphalt oval located at the foothills of the Pocono mountain region.
Racing in January has become a norm at Mountain Speedway over the last several years, and round #1 of the Mountain Madness Enduro Series will roll off at 1 pm, Rain(snow) or shine, in true enduro fashion. Race fans looking to hear the roar of the engines for the first time, have made this event a success in the past, and this year should be no exception. With a portion of the proceeds going to a different charity each year, Speedway officials will soon be announcing the special charity to benefit from this exciting event.
Three divisions will fill the racing card for the afternoon, with the 6/8 cylinder and 4 cylinder vehicles racing for 100 laps, and the 4/6 cylinder Trophy Trucks set to do battle in their Trophy Dash.
The pit area will open at 9 am, and the grandstands will be open at 12 noon, with racing to begin promptly at 1 pm.
