We just received a phone call from Wall's Jim Morton. At only 42 years of age, Mike Clayton passed away early this afternoon from an apparent heart attack. As we get more information, we will pass it along.

Our sympathies go to his family and friends.

That is horrible news to hear. My sincere condolences to Mike's family and friends.

For those of you that have posted on TCH alot, we all knew Mike recently as Tooner. He was responsible for a lot of the PR that helped make this past years Turkey Derby the most successful event ever at Wall Stadium. Was a long time crew member for Jamie Tomaino's team, including Crew Chief when the Jet won the 1990 WMT Championship. Mike was also, along with Lou Cady, was one of the early internet Modified Website building pioneers as he was webmaster at the Jamie Tomaino website in the formative years of the internet explosion. This is a terrible loss for the Modified Community as Mike had his fingerprints all over the Modified Landscape.

Rest in Peace MC, You will be missed.

Is this the same Mike Clayton that does or used to do lettering? I 'know' someone by the name of Mike Clayton, age 42, from I believe Barnegat NJ, who did business as MC Graphics.. We spoke on occasion on a sign forum.. I have not spoken with him in ages it seems..
If this is the same man, my god, my condolances go out to his family and friends. I never met him in person, but we used to speak often back a few years ago.. I am very sorry to hear about this.

I just looked at the pic above, and this appears to be the same man.. How very sad..

I only talked with Mike a few times, and he was a genuinely nice guy.
The 1990 NASCAR Modified Tour title with Jamie Tomaino will remain as one of their career highlights together.
My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Mike.
