I like to refer to the Super Bowl as the "Daytona 500 of Football",but after today I am not so sure. 1pm start should be standard. Let the West Coast bums wake up earlier to see the race

So many commercials and BS. At one point they ran 2 laps between commercials...Horrible race, crappy start time. Maybe starting @ 1:30 that would have been a good middle ground..

Let me try to play devils advocate here. I am sure fox tries to get all the commercials in early in the race so they can have the last 25 or so laps un-interrupted, stinks the rain had to come and shorten the race.
Also, I would prefer a earlier starting time, but to write screw the west coast is just not good business sense. Let's say they have a Saturday night race on the west coast, and want to start at 7:30-8:00 pm, that is 10:30-11:00 pm here- well screw the east coast it is a west coast race? I don't think with the time difference you will ever make either happy, same problem they have been having with Monday night football since it was started.

What do you people expect its nascar. the sprints on speed Saturday night was a great race. did any one watch that race? so if you want to see some real racing come on out Saturday night may 2 and see the stars and cars at Riverhead raceway. heck with the pretty boys in nascar. we have the real deal.

Its geting very hard for me to watch a whole Sprint Cup Race anymore, because of the Commercials. Its to bad it seems they are getting worse.

Even if you take out the late start, more comercials than actual race time and everything else it was a really lousy race. It was good to see the petty clan have a good race. The thirty six had a good run going just making the field and running well is a great thing congrats to Tommy and his gang. For Kenseth many friends of mine say it was just plain lucky.Good for him maybe a little luck once in a while makes up for the ones that the little bit of bad luck takes away. This is a prime example of why nascar hates the WMT our guys put on a better show than them day in and day out.

I would imagine it's hard to push up the start time for any race never mind the circus that comes with the 500. But I think they knew there was gonna be a late threat for a while so I'm on the fence with that.

As for commercials, lets just be happy the sport still has the support of its advertisers.

"Circus Acts" That's so easy to say from some no neck hill billy sitting on the other side of the fence. If you happened to be at the last sat night race for the 08 season there was by far the most fans there that night then any other sat night. And maybe that's because the fans are sick and tired of watching these sat night cry babies, fighting and stealing from each other.

we should all be thankful for what we have.for I for one would much rather pay 22 $ to see the real deal at Riverhead then watch the pretty boys on TV.so you can say Riverhead is a circus if you like.but one day you might be saying bring back the circus.so be thankful for what you have.because I'm praying that its still there so my son can enjoy it as much as I did when I was a kid and still do.
