An interesting added tidbit of information (courtesy of BF):

The #55 red,white & blue Figure Eight car of Ken Kerrivan was painted that way for the Bicentennial of 1976. Kenny and his team built that car at what was the Texaco station at exit 55 of the LIE, which most recently is the now shuttered Greyhound bus terminal.


In 1975 and 1976, many cars were painted red, white & blue to mark the USA's 200th birthday.

(I wouldn't know...I was just born...) :lol:
