I heard on Gary Danko's Speedway Line Radio Show tonight that Bear had talked to George Bierce by phone before the radio show. George said that Doug Coby will be driving the #19 WMT modified starting with Thompson. If things go well they plan on running the entire season.

As one of Doug's biggest supporters (Outside of CT) I've got to say this is deserving news.

Doug Coby is an awesome talent behind the wheel of a modified and I wish him nothing but success in 2009!

From what I have heard, the #28 driver may be announced soon.

I wish nothing but success to Doug and the 19 team. He proved to me a few years ago that he can drive the wheels off of a modified with the right support behind him.

Yes at Stafford in the SK and at least 2 races at the Bowl (150 and the 100).

I know this may be to personal, but did Coby have to bring some sponsorship to get this ride? He deserves it either way. Now I just hope I see Civali at some races this year.

Curious to know what kind of sponsorship it would take to keep a car like the 19 on the tour for the whole season.

Seems likely they will go to the first 4 races... Then come along the flash races. Obviously if they are doing great in the points race that might have some say in what they do.

But if it came down just to money... what would get them out to Spencer? Would an extra thousand dollars do the trick? Or do they need THOUSANDS of dollars to make the trip out there?

Am I sensing Maniac that you want your name on the side of another modified for one race this year? Doug being one of your favorite drivers, Riverhead in your backyard, hmmmmmm? I can hear the wheels turning now.

You never know Bobby, if things are going good.... I'd love to see Coby at Riverhead....Heck, I'd like to see Hirschman there too! Hossfeld too! Maybe if things are going real good, I can get them all to show up!!!!! Then again, I'd like to see Riverhead pay a full purse too!!!
