Stafford Motor Speedway has instituted a text messaging program that will inform owners, drivers, and fans alike with race event notifications via cell phone. The service is free to sign up for, but standard text message rates will apply from your cell phone provider. “We are always looking for ways to improve our communications to our teams and our fans,” said Stafford COO/GM Mark Arute. “This service gives us the opportunity to reach an unlimited audience in a timely manner should we have to cancel an event. The faster we can communicate with our teams and fans, we can save them time and money by not having to make an unnecessary trip to the track. Weather is a factor that we wrestle with every season and with this service, we can keep folks updated very quickly.”
To sign up for the text message service, log ontowww.staffordspeedway.com (http://www.staffordspeedway.com) and click the text message icon on the SMS Online homepage. The homepage link will prompt you to enter a username, password, and cellular phone information that will be stored in a Stafford Motor Speedway database.
