Kyle McGowan to Take the Flag Stand for the 2009 SeasonFair Lawn, NJ: (3/18/09) Kyle McGowan of Fair Lawn, NJ, the youngest of the McGowan Racing Family, will be taking over the reigns as the head starter/flagger for the American Three Quarter Midget Racing Association (ATQMRA) for the 2009 season. With father Greg McGowan, the former ATQMRA flagger, returning to Wall Speedway for the 2009 season, and brother Glenn unsure of his plans for the 2009 season, Kyle will assume the regular duties for the ATQMRA.
Kyle continues a legacy first started by his grandfather Joe McGowan, who flagged for the famed Flemington Speedway, Polo Ground, and Pine Brook Speedway, and others.
“I am happy to finally get the opportunity to stand on my own; to take on a more hands on role. This year will be an exciting year for both me and the ATQMRA,” said Kyle McGowan in an interview with TQ President Blu Metz. “I will do my best this year to work with Race Director Bill Brice to make all the right calls.”
