It's time to dust off those helmets, and air up the tires as Sundance Vacations Speedway in St. Johns, PA., gets revved up this weekend with practice for all divisions that will be competing at the lightning fast 1/3 mile paved oval located in northeast Pennsylvania.
Located just minutes from the I-80/I-81 interchange, and nestled in the picturesque St. Johns valley between the popular cities of Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and Hazleton, racers from surrounding states look to call the speedway home for the 2009 racing season.
With the great folks at Sundance Vacations, a wholesale travel company, creating a respectable contingency program for the racers, as well as implementing many exciting promotional campaigns aimed at bringing new race fans to the speedway...the preseason level of excitement is already reaching new heights!
Three practice days are planned over the next two weekends, as this Saturday and Sunday(4/4,4/5) pit gates will swing open at 11 am, with a 5-hour practice session to follow, beginning at 12 pm(12:30 pm on Sunday). A third practice day will take place one week later on Saturday(4/11), following the same times.
Pit admission is just $20 per person(no pit pass required for practice), and no charge for the race car.
Best of all, Grandstand admission will be FREE...and, the concession stand will be open and serving up delicious eats such as juicy cheeseburgers and golden french fries, plus whatever added surprises Jesse has cooking.
This will be just a glimpse of all the exciting happenings at the track which for many years was known as Evergreen, and in more recent years has come to be known as Mountain Speedway.
