The first of over 670,000 gremlins were released into North America to crush foreign imported machines. Link to article at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AMC_Gremlin

There's a great picture of the 1973 Gremlin X with Levi interior. It'd be nice to have replies to this thread include some pictures of my second favorite modified body style of all time!

Your eating too much pork roll!!!
The only Gremlin's I liked was the movie!! LOL
Seriously, I only liked the DIRT mods when they went to the gremlin body. It was used to simulate a winged sprint car and it worked....even for Mike Mclaughlin.....

Sorry Axel, those Gremlin pavement modifieds were butt ugly. I remember that the taxi cab boys in the pits used to refer to them as Awful Modified Crap. Not quite as bad as the half stock car/half modified disasters that were prolific down South for a couple of years, but close.

Gotta agree. Was never a fan of JB Jr, but that was one pretty modified. He won the Championship at Islip on 82 in a Gremlin.

Jack Rienhard's last modified had a Gremlin body on it. RJ Faveau had it for a while, then I don't know where it went. Had a 389 in it of course....

We had this Gremlin bodied modified race with our vintage club for a couple of years. Larry hasn't raced with the club in a couple years now and I don't know what happened to the car. But that body fit over the Troyer chassis pretty well. This is a good looking machine and I always liked the Gremlin body when it was lowered.

I know where 3 junk Gremlins are sitting right now. The chassis' are probably to far gone to restore (hated the looks of a street legal Gremlin!!!)... but the tin work is good enough to "modify" it!!
