Yea, but as you well know it is not much fun to ride around for 100 laps to keep from burning the tires off and only race for 25 to 30 laps.

times are tough... lanier is 5 hours away... the purse is low... the stadium starts next week... you're not going to see more than that this time of year...

Where do you see 4 Northern Team on that list?

Ted Christopher. The rest are running the full-time Southern Tour... And from my understanding.. All cars are kept in Southern states..

It's a damn shame everyone travels the 3+ hours to Lanier to race for two grand to win and nobody can stop for fresh tires.

What I saw last night looked like 14 cars racing on ice for the last half of the race AND, what little side by side racing I saw, both cars were on the verge of taking each other out if one car slipped the wrong way.

Those who were there saw NASCAR's Ed Cox in attendance, and I was told by several folks that he was surprisingly disappointed with the car count.

Well gee Ed, with the low purse and the expenses on the teams, I can say without a doubt that the Seuss's, the Riggs and everybody else LOST money, even though they WON the race!! What's wrong with that last sentence??

It's time for NASCAR to step up the purse and start treating the Southern Tour as equally as the Northern Tour. Give us the SAME purse, the SAME tire rule and your car counts and your races might improve.

Don't call the Hills, the Pennink's, and anybody else who didn't tow down to Georgia and ask them why they weren't there. Common sense should tell you your answer before you even pick up the phone.

On a side note, I feel very, very sorry for the fans that support Lanier's weekly racing. Two street stocks, Three IMCA-style modifieds, 5 or 6 Late Model Trucks, and four total Late Models (two classes raced together.) Lanier's strongest division was the Legends Cars...(yes, even more cars than the 14 NWSMT cars!) and for what they saw from the NWSMT, I'd dare say the Legends put on a much better show. Not to mention the overpowering smell of manure that was spread on a nearby field on race night!

Congratulations to Andy Seuss and the Riggs team. Looks to me like that long run during practice is what won the race for ya'll.

Mr. Cox was surprised with 14 cars during the worst economy in 50 years? He should be disapointed Nascar didn't pay enough money to help the teams get to the race!

Lets see a 12 hour drive for $2,000.00 to win or stay in NJ Or Pa. and get at least $2,500.00. hmmmmm.

OK I should have said northern Drivers. But you get the point. Still 14 cars is 14 cars, not good.

No 14 cars isnt a very good turnout. When the the PR guy came over to talk to Richie yesterday in the pits. He was saying how NASCAR wants to give the modifieds the same amount of credit the cupcake drivers get...

I just sat in the background shaking my head

I have to agree with Charlie. Give the southern tour the same purse and tire rule and full fields would probably be the norm.

Everybody was so surprised (and excited) to have a full field at the last Caraway race when we had 25 or 26 cars. Now granted Rowan and Teddy were there but there's enough cars down here now to justify that kind of field at EVERY race.

Sure, it's easy to tow to Caraway...that's a given. But, I still know there's another 4 or 5 cars that are dead set at running the Stadium, when they could have been at Ace or Caraway. Hell, I saw one of the stadium drivers in the Caraway grandstands!!

You can sit there and say, "The Southern Tour is still growing and NASCAR can't justify the purse increase for the same low car counts and the lack of crowds...."

To that I say, "Garbage." Show the Southern Tour community that there's room for compromise to open the door for other cars to show up and give the competitors to opportunity to support the tour. When they see how much better the racing and organization is on the tour (as well as the discipline) then maybe the tour will grow to what it should be.

I'm so sick of seeing 22-24 cars on a Saturday night at the Stadium and we only pull in 14 cars at Lanier. Seriously...what's wrong with that picture??

We're in our fifth year with this tour now and I am really starting to worry that NASCAR will say, "Well, we tried it and the competitors didn't support it" and the drivers and teams will say, "We asked NASCAR for somethings to help us, and they wouldn't budge."

Then what happens??

Id have to agree with that too. $2000 to win is hardly worth it considering the Pro Stocks ...I mean late models get a better payout and car count for their events
