Saturday April 18th, the second points race at Grandview Speedway attracted a large crowd in the grandstands...which included a few of your favorite NEETS officials!

NEETS Officials, on behalf of Elk Motorsports, were walking around the grandstands collecting donations for the Relay for Life, all donations benefit the American Cancer Society. The first 50 people to donate at least $1 received a brand new NEETS T-shirt! ...don't you worry NEETS drivers...there are more for you too!!!

NEETS Promoter, Joe Cutri, and Tech Official, Josh Oswald, began accepting donations in the grandstands below the announcer's tower...within minutes, the t-shirts were out-of-stock! Donations continued to pour in though, officials proceeded to venture through all of the grandstands during the course of the Modified and Late Model heats.

Promoter Joe Cutri was very thankful to everyone who donated, both large and small. "We received a range of $1 bills to $20 bills from a very large count of fans", said Cutri, "Cancer is a major health concern that affects millions of people in numerous ways, everyone is at risk when it comes to cancer. We appreciate everyone's generosity when it comes to donating to help find new cures."

NEETS Officials will be back at Grandview Speedway on April 25th for the weekly Saturday night program and again on Sunday April 26th for the first NEETS Enduro event of 2009, the 'Spring Fling'. Donations for the American Cancer Society and the 'Relay for Life' will be accepted again on the 25th and 26th.

"The NEETS family would like to give a special thanks to both the entire Rogers family for allowing us to raise this money and give us the opportunity to race at Grandview Speedway, and also to Shon Elk, driver of the 10X NEETS Big Car, for teaming up with the Relay for Life and allowing NEETS to participate in this great benefit" quotes Cutri, "Shon's initial goal was to raise $1,000 through the enduro season. I told him that we are going to do everything in our power to raise $1,000 by each NEETS event."

Shon Elk, Elk Motorsports, was speechless when he received the phone call Saturday evening informing him that $400 has already been raised for the Relay for Life. Donations will continue to be accepted, to arrange a small donation you can email NEETS Promoter Joe Cutri, joe@neetsracing.com. If you would like to donate a larger amount of money, over $100, please email Shon directly, shon@elkmotorsports.com.
