Timmerman Racing kicked off their 2009 racing season Friday at the Spencer Speedway. With 30 year old driver Kevin at the wheel, the team took part in a pre-season practice, test and tune session gearing up for the season opener. The season opener for Kevin and the remainder of the SST Modified division will be Friday for the SST 100.

The car was great off the trailer, it handled well – ran right and there were no leaks to be found, which are all things that are a welcomed sight on opening day. Kevin ran a pair of sessions, following the first the crew looked the car over and found everything to be in working order. This allowed for a harder run in the second session. Kevin recorded the second fastest lap of the day over the 20 car field. They made no adjustments.

Timmerman Racing has won numerous awards including the 2000 Spencer Speedway NASCAR Modified Rookie of the Year, the 2000 Gater Racing News Race of Champions Best Appearing award, the 2007 Spencer Speedway Hard Charger Award and they finished third the New York State NASCAR standings last season. In addition they have won several Best Appearing Car Awards at Spencer.

For the 2009 season Timmerman Racing will concentrate on accomplishing their goal of winning the Spencer Track Championship. They will also hit some shows at the Dunn Tire Raceway Park, the Holland Speedway and the Oswego Speedway.
