Does anyone have the ability to read & program Motorola SP50 radios or know who does. I know speedway communications at Mountain can, but I'm looking for something a little closer.:help:

Is it a scanner?

If so, I've never found one I couldn't program. I'll stop by on Saturday by John's car and take a look.

Nah, they're 2-way radios. They have to be programmed with special hardware & software.

If that's the case, try looking on the manufacturer's website. They should have something there.

You would need a special data cable and programming softwear. Its very expensive to buy, so it may be better to send them to a company that programs them, like Racing Electronics or Racing Radios..They charge about 15$ per radio.

Yea i can get the cable and programming box for $50 or so. Thing is you need an old slow laptop (486) to run the programming software, which is hard to find. Cost wise its pretty close to the same by the time i send out 6 radios to be programmed, I just dont feel like dealing with 'hacking' them my self. Thats why I was wondering if there was someone local.

Thanks catfish, I'll check with Dennis saturday
