After attending Twin State, I didn't think the racing could get any better. But then I went to Mahoning, and I'll say it again, if you have never been there you need to get there soon. The next 100 lapper is scheduled for July 25. Last night's race was incredible, with 3 wide racing on the smallest track I've ever seen. Side by side racing, inches apart. I had no idea who was winning this race until the very end. Lead changes and great driving.

Here's some other opinions on the race.

Last night's Modified Race was Awesome!!! I sit next to about 6 or 7 long-time asphalt modified fans and before, during and after we were all high from the excitement of the "100" lap race. All of us had great opinions about the race. One guy (Bill from Binghampton NY) said, when Beers took the lead with an unbelievable "three wide pass" coming out of two, "that it was past half way and I still dont know who's going to win this thing". Another guy (Alan from Harrisburg PA) said that it was the "Best" modified race he had seen in over five years. Another guy (Joe) said that it was one of the "top five" mod races he had seen in his life, and he is old (69). One guy (Mike) said that he had been thinking of going to "Wall" next week for the "Twin 50's" but changed his mind after last night's race. Another guy (Ed from Westport CT) said "Unbelievable". Back on May 9th, Mike and I decided to go to the "other track" for a 100 lap Modified race. All the way there we felt guilty that we were not going to MVS. We got to the parking lot and decided to come "Home". We called Alan and asked him to save us seats. We were treated to a "35 lap green flag mod race" where the second place car started 14th. WOW!! Yes Dino, we came to our senses. The bottom line is that MVS provides us fans with the "BEST" asphalt racing around. We should appreciate it while we can and continue to support MVS. I know the future of MVS is uncertain so we all should STOP the complaining and show our apprecition for what we have. Every division provides us with incredible "Side by Side" racing that does not exist at other tracks.
Thanks for letting me ramble on,
Joe Gosselin
