George Kent's brother and J.R.'s uncle Ron passed away early this morning from cancer. He was crew chief on many of George's Modified victories with many remembering the Plaza Mobil sponsorship on the rides when it was a yellow #26 Modified. My thoughts and prayers are with the friends and family of Ron Kent.

Ron Kent Benefit

Time: 4-8 p.m.

Spaghetti dinner/raffles, etc.

Proceeds to be used for Ron's final expenses. Fighting terminal cancer drained his bank account so the family needs all the help that they can get. Ronnie was uninsured so the family has to raise money for funeral expenses.

Fans at the Chemung Speedrome for the dirt on asphalt show on Sunday, June 14 should plan on a nice spaghetti dinner that night.

The benefit will include dinner, raffles, 50/50 drawings, and a meet and greet with local race car drivers. Tickets are being sold in advance but will also be available at the door.

For information call Robin M. at the El Monte Inn (607) 796-0142 or at home (607) 739-5280; or Robin Potrzebowski at (607) 731-7675; or Tracy Kent at (607) 739-3398.

I understand they have some really nice door prizes already donated.
