While I am here today I will try to provide some live coverage and updates
Driver questions and Comments from today's Media sessions:
Kasey Kahne
What do you enjoy about Racing up here in New England?
"To me this is a good track (NHMS). The fans show up, they're really excited about racing and they support the race. It is the only track of the season that is a flat one mile that races the way that this place races. It's nice to hit tracks that are a little bit different from the normal ones. I really enjoy it. We've had some good runs here. I feel like we're on a good roll right now. We've been on a good roll since about Darlington."
Why did Kasey Kahne select to run a Modified?
"I have watched the races (modified) on TV and it looked like a good time. There was a lot of bump drafting and passing."
"You have to push the pedal to the floor on the straight aways. Then you can get a lot of speed in drafting. It is fun to race. I love it. I am looking forward to tomorrow (Saturday's race)."
Ryan Newman
Talk about running in the modifieds again and what is your goal?
"To have fun, that is a goal. That is what I am here for the whole weekend, but the modifeds... the race cars as such a blast to drive. It seems like they go faster in the corners that they do on the straightaways and that is what a driver likes to feel. It is a great series, has a lot of great drivers in it. We qualified sixth yesterday. Just looking forward to it. It is a different kind of race than we have here in the Cup car because we can bump draft and draft so much. Here in the Cup cars, you really can't draft, it is just about passing and it is more of a track position race. With the modifieds, it seems like you can do a little bit more racing and a little bit more passing just with the combination that they have. I will be running in a midget tonight at Lee Speedway tonight as well...if it doesn't rain."

Ummmm......that race Isn't until Sunday. Sounds like the East series race was a great race. I've got to be pretty good friends with Matt and his family the last few years, we even do his website (http://www.mattdracing.com/), I'm just proud of him and happy for Mom and Dad, he's a real wheelman and a super nice kid.
Thanks for the updates JED, I was on my seat wondering what was going to happen next! Looking forward to updates today, as I'll be at Hickory Motor Speedway all day, I really want to see the mods up there one day though!
