Spencer Speedway cancels for the first time in 2009

NASCAR Racing at Spencer Speedway on June 26, had to be canceled due to extremely wet conditions as rogue thunder storms popped up throughout the Central New York region.

“We hated to cancel when we had double NASCAR Weekly Modified races on tap, “ related promoter John White . “But we’ll just roll the curfew delayed 35-lapper into the front end of next week’s double point night program. The 35-lap curfew delayed race will still offer single points, but the rest of the night’s features will be double pointers.”

On tap Friday, July 3, is a four start NASCAR program featuring the NASCAR Weekly Modifieds, Street Stocks, Super Sixes and Four-Cylinder Scorpions. Race time next Friday starts at 7:30 p.m. sharp.

“The double point feature scheduled this week for the Street Stocks will be moved up to our Saturday, July 11 program,” added White. “That way the Street Stocks will be running for double points on the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour evening.”

Spencer Speedway is located just fifteen minutes east of Rochester , NY , along Route 104 in the Town of Williamson . Spencer Speedway is the local “ NASCAR Place to Race” for upstate New York . Points earned each week at Spencer are counted into the national NASCAR Whelen All-American Series championship.
