As it has been discussed among the officials, we have reviewed our decision to award the #2 of Mike Hires 6th place position since he waved off the post-race technical inspection.
The decision made at the time was this: He raced a very good and clean race without causing anyone on the track any distress, even though he waved off the inspection he would be awarded 6th place, BUT WITH NO POINTS.
After the deiscussion, we have decided to correct this entire situation...Even though he raced a very good and clean race, it is not fair to everyone else who is complying with ALL of the rules...the #2 will receive last place and all the other drivers will be moved up one position. There will be NO CHANGE IN POINTS AS HE WAS NEVER AWARDED POINTS!!!
Mike intends on racing with NEETS in the future and we will keep a close eye on his racing habits as we know the car is most likely not legal, motor-wise. He will be informed at the next event, and it will be announced at the driver's meeting, the other drivers who are racing for points and the championship will not be affected by drivers who cannot comply with all the rules. Our officials will be keeping a close eye out for any car that cannot willingly comply with the rules and if they so much as happen to bump someone the wrong way, they will be black flagged instantly, no warnings.
