Seriously, just didn't know where to throw this question out there, and since you have your "answerman" hat on, here goes.

I thought I heard something to effect that since car #X had not bought tires for the evening, they would be starting in the back of the field. This was for the Modified feature.

So. Is there a rule that says you have to buy tires each week or you have to start scratch?

I suppose this is to keep people from soaking their tires, but it seems like a strange way to get there. Kinda like making an alcoholic spend all their money gambling to keep them from drinking.

If you buy 4 new tires, you are handicapped by points in the front. If you don't, you are handicapped behind those who do. It is a rule known to all competitors before the race starts. The choice is theirs to make.
