"Time trial qualifying will determine the first 23-cars of the 28-car field, with a 25-lap qualifying race then taking the top 7 cars to fill positions 17 through 23"


If the first 23 are being determined by time why would they then use a qualifying or heat race to fill positions 17 to 23 ???????? Bueller anyone ??????

It will determine their starting positions by where they finish , which does sort of give them a chance to start closer to the front. Not ideal, but the other way, there would be no need for any heats, as I believe there are 4 to 5 provisional spots available.
Ah, the ever evolving qualifying tweaks we see on the tour.

It has been corrected. It was a typo on my part.
"first 23-cars of the 28-car field" should read "first 16-cars of the 28-car field".

I think you can run an SK race in CT for the same or more to win. not a weekly SK race, but one of the extra distance races. damn shame as the costs are about half as well. there might even be 14 of them between the 3 tracks....hmmmm

The Maniac is truly the biggest race fan that I know and a great friend. We always meet up at the races and talk racing. A few years ago I was going through a difficult time with my health and marriage and it was getting tough for me to get to the races. So oneday at a race he handed me gift cards to Thompson and Stafford so I can keep on going to the races and meet up with him. This is the type of person that he is. I always laugh when he tells me these ideas he has on sponsoring races or drivers. So what he does now doesn't surprise me anymore.

I think he should throw the green flag to start the race. I know there are people on here who know people at Riverhead. We will just have to make sure that we tape the flag to his hand so he doesn't drop it on the track.

I am still speechless. NO ONE supports the mods as loyally as LIMM. This is a great way to give back to what you love. This is one of the coolest things I’ve read about in some time.

Maybe next year with some planning from a few people, we could get Riverhead to have a 10,000 to win show... or at least not at Flash Race.
