Any Grand enduro particpants know what the rules are?

WE see any car from 1960 to present.
Then we see gm motor stuff only....making the above confusing.
The fuel cell is ok, then later on mandatory.

Anyone know what the real rule deal is for grands?

I went there and that is where the confusion is caused.

If you read those rules you'll see exactly what i mean.

The very 1st line says one thing and then later on it's only gm...

Then it says not and has to be as for fuel cells...

Very confusing and contradictory

Well the original rules were edited. As in the past, no one really proof reads anything, they just make the specified change. So the rules are no longer in the original context. It has happened before. The original Islip demo rules were the Riverhead rules with changes added over the years. It was painful to read for a while there. With the Grands, the first rule is contradicted / superceded through out the rest of the rules. The way I read it is any 1960 or newer with a wheel base of 108' or more with the spec engine. Period.

ANY car 1960 or newer with 108" wheel base. BUT.....motor has to be GM 350 .30 over bore max. Put those 2 together and thats pretty much what it is. Used to be "stock appearing" mototr, then 2 years ago they made us go to a crate motor. It is what it is....Thats the only explanation I can give you. Fuel cell is mandatory.

Well im a Mopar only racer.

Actually i had thought i had just found a use for my Charger WJ that wouldn't ruin it to go back to road racing at a later date...

I don't want to totally destroy the car in a regular 8-cyl enduro class where everyone will just run into it rather then turn the wheel and hit the brakes.... so after some prodding by a friend i said if i was to i would do blunderbust or even Grand enduro... but the blunderbust would = more money and the car according to rules is illegal (another reason for BB to go the way of SS and S)...but

But then after reading the rule of a gm motor use only.... The fuel cell ok... the gm motor in a mopar.... i watched a dart at englishtown rid itself of a gm motor.

The charger will await a time when we get another road course on long island.

Sorry

The rules for the grand enduros have specs for two different engines. One spec. is for the crate motor and the other is for a "homebuilt" motor.

It seems to only be toward a small block chevy though.

I also asked RR via e-mail and haven't got an answer yet...

They must have a lot of e-mail to go thru so i got time

OK here it is... Spoke with Terry...and another Gentlemen whom i did not get his name...sorry sir..

After speaking with them both i can run the Charger...but limited to stock internals and 8.5 to 1... which mopars..unfortunately..from 71... till oh god way into the 80's were lucky if they had 8.0 to 1...most ran around 7.8 to 1

So i'll give the grands a shot
