Nice run for all the guys. Some tour guys in the past didn't like to come to Riverhead, because they could'nt get in the race.Sorry that JF had a problem with his car, He might have been there in the end, like a few years back, with a second place.:applause:

On a normal saturday night we dont usually find ourselves rooting for Dave, Justin & Howie...obviously we're to busy rooting for our own team , but I just gotta say you guys had us all cheering and screaming in the stands! That was a great race, way to to finish 3 out of the top 4 Riverhead locals. You guys fought HARD and earned every spot you took! One of the most exciting races I've seen in a long time. GREAT JOB :applause::applause:

I agree great job by MOST of the riverhead regulars....but it helps when you wreck half the field right from the get go...

over 100 laps green flag and they still whine . it was a good race and if the locals are so bad what was the 10 and 33 doing in front of preece as well as tc with a flat on the restart? it just shows you some people are hard to please. 7dnf's with 3 or 4 with motor issues. blew up or o-heat. 21 still running at the end.

No whining here...just not gonna give too much credit to the 96, maybe you people missed the 1st few laps.

If not for overheating and a brake system failure, #11 and #84 would have had top tens.
Don't know what you're referring to with #96 in first laps of race, could you explain?

Probably referring to the 96 coming off of turn 4 very loose and instead of getting off to correct the car he slid down the front stretch before going into turn one way out of control and wrecking a nice chunk of the field.

Good view in Cptn Videos highlights.

I am not passing judgement, but THAT early incident did have a big affect on the finishes of several of the Tour regs.

On another note, why were the veteran Tour drivers of the 10 and 33 allowed to hold back the leaders in the waning laps of the race? The Riverhead officials seem to week in and week out do a much better job of giving the move over signal, when compared to Tour officials last Saturday.

Waning laps, seemed they held up the field in the middle of the race as well.

Good view in Cptn Videos highlights.Maybe you should ask the driver(s) involved directly in that and you would have a better viewpoint than the video gives, since the video DIDN'T get to turn 1 until after the fact. I talked to Chuck Steuer after the race, and his version is very different. Howie ain't the bad guy al the time.

True, RGee, especially after seeing that picture.

But I spoke to Chuck, and he told me it was his doing because of his busted brakes and trying not to make an even worse crash, because he would have crashed either way.

wj the spin on the first lap had nothing to do with the caliper braking.

I don't understand what the 10 was thinking. The leaders were coming and he is tyring to make a pass that will accomplish little if anything. I guess it was one of the reasons he got "turned" in the backstretch.

Yes, we drink in Turn 1....you might call it excessive but I call it the weekend. We still watch the races and pay attention very well, we know what goes on. Kash must have looked like that from whatever he did the night before, more power to him
