Let's start this early... September 19 has the time trial 30 lapper scheduled. Let's make this race a 50 lapper like the old days. Those were some of the best races ever.... Who's in??

there was no body better at the 50 lappers/extra distance than Ed "Bubba" Zwickel with his Pepto Pink Caddy:lol:

the longer the better............more race gas sold, aswell as more tires sold. = more money for the track. why would they say no? on a different note. who do u think would win that type of race ? tire mngt. plays a big role in that kind of race. so i would say the guy who conserves his stuff the best would prob be a factor in a race like that.

I might be wrong, but Bubba never ran the 50 lapper, (Tracy or Neil could verify that), I think you might be thinking of Bobby Gardner driving Bubba's Caddy. One year he set fast time, lead every lap, and collected the biggest purse in Blunderbust history, thanks to Ronnie Langdon selling multiple sets of laps and throwing in a big chunk of his own sponsorship money. But yes, the 50 lapper was always awesome...bring it back!

Just remember, if they give a 50 lapper to the BB, the Chargers will want one too.

Poet, I do believe you are correct. In the first-ever 50-lapper in 2000, Bobby was indeed in the #55. And the year that you are talking about was 2002.

Wow Tracy, you have some memory...WJ, if the Chargers want 50 laps, I say go for it! The trucks too, I know there was a Larry Costa race, think it was called "The King's Cup". Lou M. won it. Think that was 50 laps also. They could all be the last Saturday night of racing, used to be non-points.

Sounds good to me, but not my decision. We will have to hope, I guess.

And poet, if that memory of mine serves me correctly, the "King's Cup" was actually a 46-lap race.

If nothing else it would be a nice change of pace. I wouldn't expect it to be as exciting as it used to be simply because what made it exciting was the number of drivers, and competitive drivers at that. Maybe the occasion would draw out some of the sitting cars.

50 lappers were the BEST!!!!
I agree, give all 3 divisions the 50 laps and lets go at it

There was also an extra distance race for the Legends, Jack Scott arranged it. It was called the Legends Shootout. Yes Neil, the 50 lappers were always the best race of the year...and yes Tracy, your'e right, the "King's Cup" was 46 laps...

i would like to see something like a 100lapper with small fuel cell so u had to pit. that would get the crews more involved in the outcome of who wins.

Terry, did you get a crew yet? You'd have to get out and refuel it yourself, a big disadvantage.

walt i know i go out to the track alone , but what u fail to realize is that i have the biggest crew in the pits always . you forget i came from the endoros. im proud to say that i always seem to have 10 plus guys with tools in hand waiting for me to arive at my pitt stahl when i come in during caution. ( THANX GUYS U KNOW WHO U ARE ) and most of them if not all of them are all my friends i meet from my endoro career. lol . and since we are on the topic of pit crews . i would like to thank down town brian brown and kyle curtis. those guys always got my back when i pit. there always so many people there to help me when i have to pit . i could rattle off a lot of names but i dont want forget anyone . just know i would be a factor in that 100lapper if we ever do it. lol
