We'll likely need a NASCAR license to get into the pit area. No? Does anybody have any plans for a meet and greet?

Got this information yesterday. You will be able to buy a non-licensed pit pass, but no working on/with car (no pushing to line, etc)
No shorts, no tank tops (or strapless tops) no open toed shoes

I called the track a couple of times. One person told me you will have to buy a pit pass for Tuesday. The other told me you can buy a pit pass and they may let people into the stands but it's not official yet. I can't believe Bristol is going to let people not associated with race teams into the pits. Wow, wonder where they got that idea from (World of Outlaws and DIRT)?

Hopefully Speed wont screw Whelen Modified Fans like they did today the Sprint Car Fans by NOT Televising The 49TH Knoxville Nationals ; it was supposed to be on Speed last nite; but Rain  had other ideas and will be on Hoseheadradio at 8pm est

Catfish; because Speed would not televise the races tonite because they rather do nascar stuff like Victory Lane and Wind Tunnel

Not for nothin' but i agree that the Knoxville Naitonals are much better entertainment, but what series do you think the average race fan is gonna be checking into? WoO or Sprint Cup?

I wish it was the other way around, but it's not.

Man sometimes I miss that old Nashville Network (TNN) and those Cavalcade of motor sports shows. That and Thursday Night Thunder. A lot more modified races on in those days.

The "average" race "fan" Cup. You know the ones, they don't go to races, but watch them all on TV.

The real race fans, WoO or WMT or any short track racing.

Man, no kidding .... mindless interviews and opinions from nice-rug-and-dental-work-Jimmy that no one cares about. Wind Tunnel is generally okay, but no where near Knoxville. I still have a problem forgiving them for not mentioning JBIII the Sunday after Thompson. I called in and their screener basically blew me off saying that Despain said something on his radio show. Radio show? .... anybody ever heard it or know where to get it? Weak in my opinion. I'm with Jaws in missing Thursday Night Thunder. IRP was a great watch with burgers and wings and a few beers with the boys.

Speed should show races and races only! Who to see things like: pimp me..., tow trucks towing, talk shows and all of that other junk. I can't remember the last time they had: tractor races, boat races, WRC races, etc. If it weren't for F-1 I'd drop Speed!

:(:(:(

I agree with you all-- there must be some monetary reason Speed has gone the way they did, cuz it must be more proifitable that way (somehow.)

Gil- i am right there with ya bud! Speed should have nothing but pure, unadulterated racing 100% of the time.

American Sports Cavalcade.... you never knew what you were going to get. Tractor pulls, swampbuggy races, drag racing, it was almost always great. I have a few still on vhs that are entertaining to this day. Motorweek with Despain and Bob Varsha. A whole days worth of entertainment. Plus some rodeo with Dan and Don.... I'm getting misty eyed here...... :*-(
