Congratulations to Roger Maynor for winning 100 figure8 feature races.
I am looking into seeing if this has ever been done at any other figure8 tracks.
Hope to know soon.
Way to go:applause::applause:

dad didnt want to win this way at all, and even emotional for arne cause he earned that win. dad wanted arne to keep the trophy but he wouldnt except it. it stinks there is no other word for disqualified because in our eyes arne was legal to start and won fair and square.

Kraft and dad spun ....after seeing the video w dad today from lafilms it looked as though my dad did get into Kraft unintentionally tried to back off and actually had gotten hooked where my dad thought he was getting pushed from behind from the 66 as he went around as well. but it was the b 9 pulling him cause they were hooked, is why they both went around.

Just to clear something else up too.the 66 was sent to the rear because of going underneath cones. even though it was to avoid an accident he still got penalized for it.

Leah, exactly the way it looked to us. It was a racing accident and nothing else, but we wondered if Tom and your dad would have made it through the turn okay without the extra push from the 66. Who knows, they might have stayed hooked together then too which could have been worse. I told Tommy on the phone today I felt bad for Arne as he did win that and I really doubt the weight would have made any difference but I also felt bad for Roger as I know he didn't want to win it that way and not be able to really celebrate such an accomplishment on the track after the race.

We all know that Roger has accomplihsed an unbeleivable feat that will never be beat at Riverhead.
The queestion I have is how many feature wins has he total ?
I know that Roger has won at Islip.
But how many?
And how many out of state.
I know that he has talked about winning in Florida.
And has won the winternationals championship
the Southwestern championship
and the 1986-91-92 World championship
So to the best that I can figure, if you only credit him with one at Islip and 5 championship races the total would be 106 witch would tie Roger with Bruce Tunney.

Here is a link that I got from the promoter of the Speedrome at Indy http://www.speedrome.com/stats/stats.htm it looks like there record is 130 if not more if this guy is still racing.

Also this is a link to Jesse James at the Speedrome http://www.spike.com/full-episode/figure-8-world/32821
there is some junk but also some figure8 racing. And you can see just how sick there cars are with over 700 hp.and modified chassis.

Artie, I saw that Jesse James show a few weeks back. It was frickin' wild!!! Them guys are plain sicko's!!! The point champ purposely came out to take Jesse out of the race...

The cars that they race at the Speedrome for the three hour world championship are just sick!
Roger was contacted by the promoter of Indy's Speedrome to come this year,
but we just would not have a shot against there cars.
We would love to build a light weight figure 8 car for another year.
If we could get a loner modified engine. Building would probably start tomorrow.
Riverhead would be represented well with it's all time winning est driver Roger Maynor at Indy.
Hey you never know.
I tell Roger all the time. You gotta put it out there, And it might just happen.

Artie I have an Illustrated Speedway News here from July 13th, 1983 and and Roger won that week and the previous week and it says it was his 3rd win so far in 83 if that's any help in figuring total wins.
