The first sentence kinda gives it away Jeff.

"NASCAR's Chase for the Championship begins Sunday with the running of the Sylvania 300 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway and for one driver in the top-12 getting ready to battle for the title it will mean dropping the fun event at NHMS to focus on the Cup efforts".

I wonder if Richard Petty had any say in this. I remember Kyle Busch wasn't allowed to pilot a mod a few years ago.

I think that Kyles situation had to do with him being under contract with Toyota and the mods are Chevy's and Fords.

If that were an issue it would have been brought up in June. The Chase guys have more media commitments. Especially this week with it being the first Chase race. They have to deal with all that plus get get their cars right. Not enough hours in the day.

Him and Newman are in New York today, that's why Kasey isn't running. Bono told me last night that Steven Park is gonna practice and qualify the 7NY and Newman will start last on saturday in it.

Just stopped by the Hard Rock, its kind of funny, there were probably 12 real Nascar fans waiting outside for the 12 Chase drivers!! Why do they do these things in NYC? my guess its more for the media than the fans.
