I have a question about safety equipment if anyone can answer this. The rulebook doesn't give any info on what types of helmets are legal. Are open face helmets with a shield on them legal to use at the enduro's? Personally, I wouldnt use one. But my dad doesn't like full face helmets and he wants to use an open face helmet.

he may use a DOT approved open face helmet with goggles if he would like to. but he must have eye protection.

Just make sure he can use tear-offs on it or he might as well be blind.

I use a regular dot approved full face without tear offs, works just fine...didnt have any problems with seeing ahead of me during last race. especially with my underpowered ranger as everyone blew by me like i was standing still lol. those little 100hp 4 bangers in the rangers just dont have any kohones...

Small car must be different then big car, my helmet was taking on machine gun fire, then there is the occasional one that hits so hard it turns your head sideways.

1991 ranger 4 cyl 2.3L EFI regular cab short bed. has about 100hp stock, manual trans and gets 23 mpg...lol

your most likely right gutter, the big cars are mostly rear wheel drive cars which sling the dirt. i was getting hit decently but not that bad with the front wheel drive cars. in the slingshots and micro sprints, id get hit pretty good with some thick dirt. it sucked. i think i had the only rear wheel drive vehicle out there...and boy when that track is wet...they go no where lol

being in the truck you are also sitting higher and possibly don't get as much mud hitting you in the face. I know some of the past races I went through quite a few tear offs in one race. Although usually by half way the track dries out a bit and its mostly just stones and hard pieces, not as much wet sticky mud as the begining

That should be the same motor that was in the pintos/mustang II I might have some part lying around too from my BP car I'll bring them up next race and you can take what u want...

I also noticed that the last race wasnt too bad as far as tear offs, I didnt go through any. My suite was covered in dirt but not much mud balls this race. The race before last I went through 8 in the first 15 laps but then only about 1 after that.
