Question about the championship?

Does anyone know if there have been any non race winners who have won the season title? Todd Szegedy isn't that far behind the top three. just wondering if two second place finishes will get it done?

I think Tomaino won one when he won the title in 1990.

I think that whoever has one bad show is out. So if any of the top 3 don't have a real bad outing, I doubt Todd would pass them if he doesn't win a race. For Todd to win the championship, without winning a race, I think all 3 would have to have at least one really bad finish. Just my opinion.

As far as I am aware the only NASCAR Championship to be won by a driver who did not win a race in his championship season was Dale Shaw when he won the 1994 Busch North Championship.
