Has anyone heard of a possible raindate? Weather doesn't look good for saturday with clearing late sunday.

Possible, but I doubt it. It's Waterford's Finale weekend the 10th and 11th. Unless, would they go up against another local track's finale?

I know it would not effect too many teams but is also King of the Mountain at Sundance

But if they did run Stafford's Finale after the World Series, it wouldn't be the first time. It happened back in '06. Or maybe Waterford will move their finale around, which they did in '05 (i believe) to accomodate the World Series. I think the tracks try to work together to not have people chose which finale they want to attend because of a scheduling conflict.

Last year they went against Seekonk. Not sure if Waterford ran on Columbus Day weekend last year.

Didn't we go through this last week. Many people here were saying rain Sunday in Martinsville it turned out to be one of the nicest race days of the year. I am hearing rain Saturday ending early Sunday with clearing as the day goes on. In the past Stafford has used practice times in the Friday practice session to set the line ups for their regular divisions. You could dry the track run tour practice give the other divisions a practice run TT then start running features. Run the tour fourth or so depending how things go.

If I was Stafford's management I would not be opposed to running after the world series with the possibility of a 4 car battle for the championship. What more could you ask for.

I have seen in the past when both Fall Finale and the World Series were run in November. They will not be concerned with any of the after season races as none of them are Nascar sanctioned so they could care less!!!!

Its not stupid if your Stafford. Stafford has nothing to worry about as long as the weather is nice. The tour rules in these parts. This has been proven many times over in recent years. They went up against Seekonk last year. I'm sure they aren't too worried about running against Seekonk and Waterford this year. Plus, its a 3 day weekend for some people which helps those who have to travel. While they can run up into early November, I remember it being bitterly cold and windy there 2 years ago and I think that was only late October. Anybody who was there that day will remember.

I remember that year in October of 06. I remember how cold it was. Everyone was in Winter Coats.

I am just wondering if they would try to get everything in on Sunday only because they have a mini stock race with 39 cars entered. Would they get rid of qualifying and try to do features only

They would have to organize everything so it did work. I'd assume that there would be some qualifying (it's been a while since the last time they crammed everything into one day, so I can't remember if they even had qualifying that last time), depending on who it was. Yes, it's possible.

If there is the need for a rain date, the weekend of the 9th is also Columbus Day weekend. Use that Monday if you have to -- Stafford threatened to use just that last year.

As of about 8:30 this morning, WFSB chan. 3 was saying Rain start Friday evening and go into Monday morning - thetre maybe windows but will ANY be long enough for track drying and any track time for anyone? I would not drive even one hour based on this and I've been following the tour since it began in '85 Also, from over 40 years of folloeing Modifieds throughout the Northeast, I can also say that the likelyhood of Weater issues increases with each sucessive weekend of Sept., Oct., and Nov. They've GOTTO get it in but I'd hate to take the shot and make the call.

One way or another I think they will make a call on Friday.

With all the rainy weather this summer, one would have thought the fall weekends would improve. Mother nature can be a b_tch! It will be tough for stafford to get the events in this weekend but we will all have to wait for an official announcement. I was planning on seekonk next sunday but that may change!

I was just on the Stafford site and if you go into the Event weekend schedule it says the raindate is Oct. 9, 10 & 11.

The forecast shows heavy rain in the morning and more scattered rain in the afternoon and evening on Saturday. Can they do some racing Saturday night or is a wet infield too much of a safety issue? Temps will be in the 60's on Saturday evening, so cold is not a factor.

mattphoto

I would say the infield would be to wet. Aren't we suspose to get some heavy rain tonight or tommorow ?
