On Friday night, October 16, 2009, as part of the Thompson World Series festivities, the friends of Sonny Richards will be hosting the first-ever Texas Hold’ Em Poker Tournament Fundraiser. The event will take place at the Raceway Golf Club (a.k.a. the Club House) at 8PM.
There will be a $40 buy-in with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Sonny Richards “Education is King” Scholarship Fund. Prizes will be paid out to the top-three finishers; the payout will be determined by the number of players. Shawn Courchesne of the Hartford Courant has graciously agreed to serve as the dealer for the tournament.

Kelly Coby-Silk was the most recent recipient of a Sonny Richards “Education is King” Scholarship.
