If Chad Little is leaving or has taken another position, who is negotiating with the tracks? I also find it odd that the TVMS tested at Limerock but the WMT got the date.

My only question about this date is that it is a Sunday, I thought there was no racing on Sundays at Limerock.

The show will be July 2-3. There is no racing allowed on Sunday's at Lime Rock.

i know it's sacrilege to many, but i like it. At least give it a try and see what happens. As long as my schedule works I will go.

They have run at Watkins Glen before and a few of the races was quite good, as they were televised. The main problem, was that after a caution, it took 3 to 5 laps to get restarted, and when a race is only 60 laps to begin with, we ended up with not than many cautions, but more than half the laps were run under caution. I'll be there.

I'm sure Monadnock has the modifieds that day too. If time allows for both , I"ll do it, but given the choice I"ll head to Monadnock for the True Value.

I'm glad the Tour got the date, but I'm still not a big fan of Modifieds on road courses. Ted brought up an excellent point about the extra caution laps that were run back when they ran at Watkins Glen...those cautions just dragged on forever. I would, however, still like to check out this event. My expectations are so low it's almost a sure thing that I will enjoy the race!

if you enjoy this race, I'll set up a lawn chair in my back yard for you to watch my grass grow.

Geeze Gino, can I come too??

Hey, would you ike to drive all the way to Chemung for a flash race or a road course race closed to home that probably will pay pretty well. I'm just saying!!

as if Blogger boy's write up wasn't confirmation enough, I just got the email from LRP announcing the double header. Both races scheduled to run 66 laps/101 miles... no support races have been announced yet

I'm just sayin the last 3 road courses I saw stunk. the main problem being the extended cautions. even if this race pays better than Chemung, you have the extra expense of turning the lefthander into a road course car. I thought I was told last time we ran there it was near 2k to convert the car. hey I appreciate the fact they are finding more tracks. let's see what they hand out this week in Charlotte, Friday morning to the 11th to 20th place teams with their bowl of outmeal.

No lights at LRP, so you should be able to do the double.........i might be in your draft.

how far from LRP to Waterford?

ShawnCourchesne
11-11-2009, 10:05 PM
I've done the LRP to Waterford run the last two years when Camping World East was at Lime Rock on Wings and Wheels night at Waterford. You're talking close to two hours for the drive. No fast way. In 2008 I went back to Hartford from Salisbury (at least an hour) then made the trek down Route 2 to Route 85. This year I went to Torrington (bout a half hour at least), caught Route 8 to I-84 in Waterbury. Took that to I-691 over to I-91 then caught Route 8 to I-95 to I-395.

(edit by Howie) I think you mean "Route 9 to I-95 to I-395".

Rye? Fescue? Bermuda? Any of these aggressive and fast growing grasses can keep the blood racing!

i've always been a fescue man myself.

We could race lawnmowers, it might be more exciting. ;)

If your going to race lawnmowers though at least make it interesting and leave the blades on with no guards, make people think twice before dumping someone, lol.:lol::lol:

If your running Lawn Mowers make sure you put restrictor plates on the Toro's. Those things fly, got to keep the rules in check or your going to out the little guys. I say run Toro's on 6" rubber, everyone else 8".

The blades on sounds good, how about a passenger with a paintball gun as well?

Lee has added a CWES race in July, essentially replacing their Adirondack event. No WMT at Lee though.

This race is just over a month away. Has anyone seen a possible purse for this race? Thinking about getting a car ready for the race, but probably will not spend the extra money if it isn't a decent payout.
Also, does anyone know if you are going to be able to run a wider offset? I know at Watkins you were able to. Any help would be appreciated.

1st - $6,000 W/O Bonus Money
30th - $1,040 W/O Bonus Money

I hope this helps and we hope to see you running @ Lime Rock.

I wonder if Lime Rock and NASCAR would do a test for the Mod teams

NASCAR has waived the two-week ban on testing in advance of a race in this instance. Lime Rock will have an open test for the Whelen Modified Tour teams on Tuesday, June 29.
