why did the figure8's go from 20 laps to 15 laps.it says that the drivers asked to only run 15.I know for along time in the old days it was only 15 laps.why the change?do they feel it will bring out more cars or save money?

this is nothing against any of the drivers out there.but I dont think buy running 15 laps or 20. that anyone is going to beat that 28.so if he Winn's another 8 or so races this year and another championship.2011 will you want 10 lap races.what I would do is put a bounty on him.if anyone can beat him the winner would get more money.it would make it more fun to watch.by just going to 15 laps.I can see the 28 winning even more.like I said this is not to bash any of the other drivers and I'm not really a Roger fan.but I can't see anyone that can really beat him no matter what you do.can a driver prove me wrong?

So what you are basically saying is that the drivers have no clue what they are saying or thinking asking for 15 lap features? And then you say you can see Roger winning more with 5 laps less? How often do you really go to the races and WATCH THEM!!!

Islip always ran 15 lap features, with 24 cars starting. The fastest cars will get to the front.

im not positive on this year but the previous year would have produce 5 different winners in 15 laps... then 20. Including 2 first time winners.

The Figure 8 Features went from 15 to 20 laps when they stopped running heat races in the early 90's.

15 sounds about right. Not to mention with shorter distance there's more urgency and added pressure which could induce some errors from time to time. Good decision I think.

So will double point races be 20 now?

Now they do it. Should have been 10-14 years ago. You know how many times I lead on lap 15 with a used up car only to finish 5th or 6th? :)Seriously, it's a good idea. Good luck guys.

No better way to sell a car than to have it out there :)

That 22 was one of my favorite cars year after year and it's been too long.

I'd love nothing more than to go racing. If the car doesn't sell and business gets better, we'll see.

What's the return on the sponsership?

Duke22

Sponsorship would be nice but I'm not ready to race anyway. The car is still in Pennsylvania, my race shop isn't set up, no crew and I just started a new business after 27 years of Island Moving Supplies. Add on a mortgage and 2 babies. Like I said, we'll see.

Joe, you'd get a top 5 car with a chance to win. With a little help, the chance of winning increases.

I actually think this is a good idea. They may have done this for the drivers but I have to believe it was done for the fans. I enjoy watching the figure eights but to be honest some of the races this past year went on way to long with the cautions. I was out to see five or six of them and a couple ended because of the time limit. In one of the races it actually took 25 minutes to complete 4 laps. Sometimes you sit and watch some great races and then this kind of kills the flow of the night. I understand that this happens because of the nature of the race but some of them just lasted forever. Just an observers opinion!

How about a green white checker.

How about a green white checker.

yeah i think it should always be one more green. if there's a caution and we're nearing the limit you tell the drivers next caution is the finish and they race back to the line. if we're gonna have raceivers this year that's the way to do it.

How about a green white checker.
