Bob Paulin who for many years was the Northeast Media Coordinator for the (old) Busch North and for a year or so also was Northeast Media Coordinator for the then Winston/Featherlite Modified Tour passed away last Thursday. RIP Bob, our thoughts and prayers are with Diana, family and friends.

GARDINER -- Robert L. Paulin, 62, of Libby Hill Road passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009, at Maine General Medical Center, Augusta.

Bob was born in Waltham, Mass., on Jan. 31, 1947, the son of Leo and Irene (Cormier) Paulin.

He enjoyed working in his garage on motor sport projects and building race cars.

Bob worked as an auto mechanics instructor at the Capital Area Vocational Technical Center in Augusta for 10 years. He also owned and operated his own motorsports marketing agency and served as the Northeast Media Coordinator for NASCAR. He was a published journalist, writing several motorsports columns for the Kennebec Journal and Lewiston Sun Journal.

He was predeceased by his parents; and sisters Diane Paulin and Janine McGovern.

Bob is survived by his wife of 42 years, Diana (Mandile) Paulin, of Gardiner; a sister, Anne-Louise Paulin, of Seattle, Wash.; a very special niece, Angela Ayer, of Wareham, Mass.; and special friend Carole Hickey and her husband, Nelson, of Whitefield.

Per Bob's request, there will not be any services at this time.
