As of 1 PM, Friday:
A steady snow continues to fall, however...it is expected to taper off to flurries in the next few hours.
At that time, we will begin a full scale snow removal assault on the speedway grounds.
One positive is that the snow is very light and fluffy, and will plow easily. Since we already plowed a majority of the property earlier in the week, it should aid in clearing the snow that has fallen over the last two days.

Please check back later, as another update will be posted at 6 PM. Anyone who would like to help out, is urged to call the track phone #(570)788-7544.

Thank You.

Mountain Madness Enduro Postponed to Sunday

Due to the continued winter weather advisory which remains in effect into Saturday, Sundance Vacations Speedway Officials have been left with no other option, but to delay the Mountain Madness Enduro Series-race #2, originally scheduled for Saturday, 2/27…until Sunday 2/28. Sunday’s program will begin at 2 pm, with pit area opening at 10 am, and grandstands at 1 pm.

Statement from Promoter Joe Callavini: “Being in the towing business, we are in constant contact with the State Police and Township Officials. We felt that in the best interest of the fans, racers, and track personnel…everyone needed a bit more time to dig out from this last blast of winter. Enduro racing is unique…in that races can be run in any weather conditions. However, we need to get everyone to and from the track…safely. There is no doubt in my mind that both Butler Township and Penndot will be working day and night, to assure the roads are in excellent condition for travel, before Sunday.
*
I would like to thank everyone, in advance, for their understanding. This event is special to many people, and we want it to be an overwhelming success.”
*
THANK YOU.

That big hill leading to the speedway could have been a big problem for the teams with the larger trailers. Make up dates are always ify, but I think the speedway made the right call.

The sun has been dancing in and out of the clouds over the speedway this morning, as snow removal continues. The weather is definitely improving as the weekend progresses.

Dig 'em out, get the covers off, charge the battery, gas 'em up, and GO, GO, GO!!!

Mike and Pappy are still plugging away with clearing some of the white stuff for the fans to reach the stands. He said that he plans to be at the track for most of the night, so if anyone has a plow and a few cold ones, stop by...:)

And we thought the race in January was fun. More snow and higher temps might just show up the Frostbite enduro:applause:

just got off the phone w/ Pappy. He and Mike are still clearing snow!!! and plan on working at it all night... Pappy's even staying in the pits overnight... From what I heerd the plow truck just broke down, but they still have the skid steer clearing snow.
they could use a little a little help!!!
If your coming or racing tomorrow or have nothing to do tonight , bring a snow shovel, and give the guys a hand, it will be a big help. and appreciated
See ya in the am.

Dinner break.
Just to update everyone...
The Grandstands are in excellent condition as there is absolutely NO snow on the entire bleachers. There is a wide path from the front gate all the way to the announcers tower, for the large crowd that is expected. The concession area is cleared enough so that you can easily pick up your favorite snacks and drinks to enjoy during the races. Fresh portable restrooms will be delivered in the early morning, and will be easily accessible from the grandstands. We will continue to hammer away at the pit area all night long, to provide ample parking. We will need everyone's cooperation in getting the haulers parked, to ease loading and unloading. The back gate area is also cleared, and Debbie will be greeting you with a smile, at the pit sign-in booth beginning at 10 am.
What we could use is a 2-ton dump with a plow to clear additional parking for the race fans, in the front parking lot. We have opened up a significant portion of the main parking lot...but, could use more room.
A suggestion would be to try and carpool to the track with someone, which would aid in congestion.

Pappy and myself will be here all night, so stop by and say "Hello". Pappy says bring firewood, and a few Barley pops. :D

I want to thank everyone who pitched in all day, at some point in time.

And the best part...
Sunday, Sunday, Sunday...RACING AT 2 PM!!!

If you have never seen an Enduro race...You WILL want to be here, for history in the making.
WHEN THE SNOW PILES HIGH, THE GREEN FLAG WILL FLY!

Pappy is out of coffee, so we will be running out for coffee and Fuel for the skid steer. The track is almost there, and we will continue with completing the track, along with making more room in the pit area for parking...into the nearly full moon night.

I feel as though we are building a new race track...overnight. :applause::rolleyes::applause:

Will try and post an update in the early morning.

GO TO BED!!! :D

RISE and SHINE!!!...all you Enduromaniacs, it's almost SHOWTIME.

Although Pappy decided to take a Nappy, the pit area is in surprisingly good shape...as the dawn sky becomes apparent. Another fuel run and maybe a breakfast burrito, and then back at it.

The final piece of the puzzle will be to clear as many spots as possible in the main parking area. As I mentioned earlier, a heavier truck/plow combo would be a plus...but, if not...we'll make due with what we have.

Back to work.

See you all SOON!

Have a safe trip. ;)

Leaving for the track in a few minutes....to do list:
1. Hunt down Cory
2. Say hi to Green Flag
3. Give CPR to PA system (if needed)
4. Find Mike, who is probably sleeping in a snow pile after pulling an all-nighter.
5. Same goes for Pappy, except look for the smoke and follow the smell (not saying that Pappy smells though)
6. Watch some great racing.
7. Most important- This one's for Cheryl Tracy:)

Come on out and enjoy the snow in a great way!

All ready to go.....snow piles all around, yet there's room to park in the lot and the pits. Thanks to everyone that helped out.

The weather's actually pretty decent-come on out!
