Unless I missed it, I think they should do away with the redraw if the are awarding points for leading laps.

Great point, I always hated the redraw.

Imagine Nascar having to tell Tony Stewart that because he won the the pole at one of the road courses (where track position is so important) that he will be starting 10th becasue of the redraw. How do you think the cup guys would take it?

The pole sitter did start at the front when the Tour first started. I believe it was Jeff Fuller who led every lap from the pole one race. The next week the draw was born.

Did anyone ever think you'd see green white checked finish and now double file restarts on the Cup side. Same reason. For the show.

i like redraws. modified racing in particular seems more likely for winners from the pole with time trials than other nascar divisions. it makes the races more exciting. starting straight up from time trials just makes the class more like sprint cup racing.
