(LEHIGHTON, PA 3-7-10) The time is near at the quarter mile paved Mahoning Valley Speedway to welcome race teams for the start of the 2010 season and as always several practice days are scheduled in order to allow racers the opportunity to dial in their cars and be ready to roll come race day.

Three days of test and tune are planned and the first occasion to hit the track will be Saturday, March 27. The following day, March 28 and also Saturday April 10 are test and tune days as well.

All practices run from noon to 4:00 p.m. Grandstand admission is free.

All classes/types of race cars are welcome to partake in the test and tune dates with a special calling going out to all dirt Modifieds.

With the announcement that the dirt mods will race twice this year at New Jersey Motorsports Park in the “Battle of the Dirt Cars” Mahoning’s practice days offer a great opportunity to analyze their mounts on the blacktop.

Also, with Mahoning Valley’s special Dirt Cars on Asphalt Spring 50 set for Sunday, April 11, which pays $1200 to win, it is another golden opportunity for dirt Modified teams to get a feel for the pavement under race conditions in better preparing for the events later this year at NJMP.

The Dirt Cars on Asphalt Spring 50 has a 3:30 p.m. start time. The Street Stocks will join in the action that day with a 25-lap season opener.

All regular tracks classes, Modifieds, Late Models, Dirt Modifieds, Street Stocks and Pro4 Late Models, will be in action one week later on Saturday evening April 17 at 6:00 p.m. with the highlight being Hand Five of the 2009 Modified 100 Poker Series, a 100-lap $3000 to win main for the Modifieds which is a holdover race from last year and will determine the overall Poker Series champ.
