:wave:I get mine from Speedway Motors at about $.85 each. You have to change the chamfer on the wheel from 82 degrees to 90 degrees but that's all. I havn't found a loose one yet.

Thanks
Wanted to comment on the 82 and 90 degrees Metric bolts are 90 standard while our good old american SAE bolts are 82.

Hey RP I looked on summits website Monday nite but did not find.Do you have part #? phil

Can someone explain this to me? Maybe I am missing something... 1" lug nuts have an included angle of 90 degrees... Stock GM Metric lug nuts (according to speedway motors) are 60 degrees. We are not required to run the racing wheels, but must use 1" lug nuts that do not match the taper of the stock wheel...? So now we have to buy a reamer of some sort to change the angle of our stock wheels to that the required 1" lug nut properly fits the stock wheel lug taper. Am I getting this right or am I missing something here?

Thanks!:help:

Do NOT ream your wheels for the new taper. I have used the 90 degree nuts on stock GM wheels for several seasons and have not experienced any problems. I inspect my wheels every race. I know a few drivers that have had problems trying to change the taper. If you don't get it just right, you open the hole too much. IMO, it isn't worth it.

If anyone can tell me where to find 12mm x 1.25 nuts, I would appreciate it and so would many Talon drivers.

Sorry Phil, can't find the part # for the lug nuts from Summit.......................:disgusted
But, you can get 20 nuts from Day Motorsports(1-800-543-6238) any size for $15.99.....................
As far as the inclusive angle on the stock rim (60 degrees) or the after market 90 degree lug nuts, its not an issue......................................:rolley es:
The torque ring of the wheel/rim is the protruded surface surrounding the bolt circle on the backside of the rim center ......................;)
The torque ring keeps the area around the stud holes in wheel away from the hub surface.....................:D
As the lug nuts are torqued the small gap in the center pulls in the wheel creating a lock washer effect...........................
As the lug nut is torqued it creates an interference angle between the nut and rim( no matter what the inclusive angles) which keeps the lug from loosening up....................:applause:
