IF you plan on installing any part the day of an event after you arrive at the speedway, please assure yourself you have plenty of time to:

INSTALL

TEST IT

PASS SAFETY TECH

If you arrive late to the track and assume it will be permitted onto the speedway without having a tech official observe the installation first, please think again....

Make the arrangements necessary between yourself and the other party that may be delivering your parts. If you get there at 8am and they get there at noon, you are probably sunk....and vice versa....

Arrive early and find a place to work that will not interfere with traffic. If you are situated in the middle of the road, an official will have to ask you to move the car...nothing worse than getting set up then having to move a car around...

TEST THE PART!!! In the case of the fuel cell issue Jack may be solving on the 11th, give yourself the time to see if everything is tied in and the are no leaks...hit the track and fuel starts dumping, you'll be black flagged instantly. Worse yet, a fire could break out and not only have your efforts gone to waste, but so will your car and possibly YOU!!!

Get safety tech approval! If you finish the car extremely late, even if we have to hold things up for a minute extra...make sure someone in tech looks at the car. You can never be safe enough and another set of eyes looking everything over never hurts.

Good luck Jack, hope you get 'er done!

you'll be running 50 miles if you finish all laps. if you get 8 miles to the gallon you will have around three gallons left.

My Pontiac uses 12 gallons of fuel in 100 laps at Big Diamond. I would not try a 10 gal at Gview.
Or you better have a fast pit crew.

Grandview is a 1/3 mile track....100 laps = 33 miles approx.

10 gallon tank - 33 miles .....unless you are getting less than 5 miles to the gallon, you should be fine....

My suggestion, get the car running and get it to the staging area and shut it off. Start it back up once the pace laps start. Keep it running if a red falls, but don't over rev the motor....

A 10 or 12 gallon tank should do just fine. Two tanks being utilized? Well, I will let Rick decide if that is acceptable/safe, but my assumption is that if it is installed properly and safely, there shouldn't be a problem.....

Also noted....BD is a 1/2 mile track....therefore, 100 laps = 50 miles.

50 miles - 10 gallon tank....cutting it close if your motor is burning fuel, therefore it is a good idea to run the bigger tank here in this scenario.

I use a tank from a 1992 chev s-10 blazer, 18 gallon tank. You can get them from any junk yard for 50.00, i bought a new one for 95.00, but then i needed to buy a sending unit. Hope this helps. Good luck

You should GO GREEN and switch to a 4 cyl. They are just about as fast as the big cars, and they only use around 4 gals. a race. Actually some of the faster 4 cyls are faster than the slower big cars. huh??

That is true....Dave Bentley Jr. and Steve Todorow were running just as fast as some of the Big Cars in 2009.

Both cars were legal. Both cars were fast!
