St. Johns, Pa- Kyle Ebersole of Hummelstown, PA overtook Bobby Jones for the race lead in the Modified feature and never looked back, as he claimed the checkers for his first win of the season at Sundance Vacations Speedway. Richie DiMarco completed a last lap pass on Scott Meckes to claim his first points paying Street Stock win since 2008 and Robert Fink notched his first victory of the season in the Four Cylinder FWD division.

Jim Bojohnny started on the pole and led the opening lap of the 40-lap Modified main event. Jones tucked into the second spot with Allan Creveling, Ebersole and Harry Buchman in tow.

Jones overtook the leader on the second circuit and then Ebersole followed to take the runner-up position. Meanwhile, Barry Callavini got by Creveling to take fourth.

Ebersole quickly found his way around Jones and overtook the leader on lap five. Not long after, tenth place starter, Earl Paules cracked the top five and then passed Bojohnny for the fourth spot.

The first yellow flag waved when Todd Baer got into Buchman on the backstretch. Both drivers were forced to restart from the tail end of the field.

Green flag racing resumed and Paules wasted no time, as he overtook Callavini for third on lap 14 and then shot by Jones for second five laps later.

By halfway, Marissa Niederauer grabbed fifth and began to battle with Callavini for the fourth position.

Uncontested over the second half of the event, Ebersole cruised to his first win of the season and a $1500 payday over Paules, Jones, Callavini and Niederauer.

Kyle Ebersole and Allan Creveling scored heat race wins and Harry Buchman picked up $50 when his finishing position was pulled in victory lane for the Sundance Vacations Contingency Program.

Brian Brown led a full Street Stock field to the drop of the green flag for the 25-lap feature. However, outside pole sitter, Josh Oswald quickly grabbed the race lead. Jim Yamelski grabbed second with Mitch Hawk in close pursuit.

Steve Shultz cracked the top five and then overtook Hawk for third on lap seven. Meanwhile, Yamelski began to pressure Oswald for the top spot but the leader wasn’t about to give it up that easily.

Following a quick lap 10 caution, Shultz got by Oswald and DiMarco followed through for second. Scott Meckes joined the mix and took third, followed by Robert Fink and Kevin Higgins.

The caution flag flew on lap 13 when Oswald and Yamelski made contact on the front stretch. Several cars got a piece of the action, including Nick Ross, Hawk and Brian Wozniak. Both Ross and Wozniak’s days came to an end.

Green flag racing resumed and Meckes made a three wide move on the bottom and overtook the leaders. Shultz began to slide backward and DiMarco grabbed the second spot.

Trying to get by the leader, DiMarco looked high and low for real estate without success. However, that changed on the final lap when DiMarco squeezed by the leader and crossed the finish line to earn $500 and his first points paying victory since 2008. Meckes settled for second, followed by Oswald, Higgins and Chip Wanamaker.

Heat race wins went to Jim Yamelski, Richie DiMarco and Mitch Hawk. Jeff McGrath picked up $50 when his finishing position was pulled in victory lane for the Sundance Vacations Contingency Program.

Dave Freundt started on the pole and led the opening laps of the 20-lap four cylinder FWD feature. With one lap complete, Robert Fink sat in second, followed by Eric Banashefski, Charles Ruckle, Jr. and Pete Verwys.

Bill Verwys, Jr. started in tenth and quickly drove toward the top five runners. He then shot by P. Verwys on lap six to take fourth.

The yellow flag was thrown when Justin Hughes and John Smith tangled on the front stretch. Green flag racing resumed and Banashefski grabbed the race lead. Several other drivers got by Freundt, including Fink, P. Verwys and Brian Kunkel.

With seven laps remaining, Fink made the pass on Banashefski stick and took the race lead and from out of nowhere, Mike Kline cracked the top five and then began to knock off positions left and right. With four laps remaining, Kline sat in the fourth position.

Fink went on to take the win, which was his first of the season. Kline crossed the strip as the runner-up, which was his best career finish in the division. Banashefski, Kunkel and Freundt completed the top five.

Heat race wins went to Dave Freundt and Harry O’Neill. Eric Banashefski picked up $50 when his finishing position was pulled in victory lane for the Sundance Vacations Contingency Program.
