I was mirror raced in the May 9th race by a car that had a mirror in it. Every time i went low he went low every time I went higher( you really did not want to go high) he went high. When i did get by I drove right away from him. I should have punted him into the wall but I do not race that way.The mirror driving cost me the lead in the race. Why the **** do you need a mirror to race??? If you get your fender up so the car you are passing can see you then you have the lane.If the leading cars driver can not see you to his or her right or left in there peripheral vision than the car that is behind does NOT have a lane. If your car is slow for what ever reason than all you have to do his run a smooth line and the overtaking race car will pass you . NO mirror needed. Those Wimpy cup drivers use mirror to block and you see what happens.

Give me some MUD but NO to mirrors. And no to the Democrats turning the USA into a Socialist country.

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Doesn't matter either way to me. I can see where drivers are coming from on both ends...when I had my mirror I barely used it, but would glance in it once in awhile to see if someone was coming then hold my line a little more since I was a slower car. Other than that I never used it for anything else.

One thing that does kind of disgust me is the fact that every car goes through pre-race tech inspection...correct? So WHY when the rules clearly state no rear view mirrors this year, are there cars being allowed out on the track with them? Some kind of special treatment? In my opinion, letting drivers go with breaking a small rule like the rear view mirror one, sends a message that it is okay to break other rules, and drivers will start to push to see how much they can get away with.

Well said Phil! I never raced with a rear view mirror and I don't ever remember wishing I had a mirror in my car. I'm not usually wondering what, or who is behind me, that really is irrellevant?? :confused: I'd think it would be a distraction?? Keep your eyes forward and drive the car! JMO!!! :cool:

Critter, Neets is not a Republic, it's more like a dictatorship and Joe is the dictator.
Voting won't get you your mirrors back.
Although getting down on your knees and begging just might. :lol:

The race is in front of you, not behind you. Just remember if you mirror drive, some driver will just push you out of the way. Mirrors won't help you then!!!! J m o

Well let me tell you from my standpoint , if you guys have mirrors I get 15 -20 complaints of mirror driving at least!!!!! So we decided that mirrors were not gonna be legal, so really you guys who complained last year made up our minds for us, so we answered with NO mirrors !!!! So now you want them back ??? Well just the last race I personally got several complaints about mirrors, and how they were used to block !! Sorry it is a rule NO mirrors, and if you are caught with one after the race you will be dq`ed period sorry. i agree with the captain the race is in front of you and if you are lookig in the mirror you will never know what is going on in front of you where you need to be watching !!!!!!!

As Petey pointed it out....we have always tried to run things in the favor of the majority.

Last year, we had complaint after complaint about mirror driving. Rick, standing in Turn #1, was approached each and every race about mirror driving. The overall majority wanted NO MIRRORS. At the rules meeting, we took a vote and more people voted either no mirrors or that they didn't mind either way.

Now in 2010. Yes, some drivers are still using mirrors. You have had your last warning to remove them. IF, like Petey stated, you install one after safety tech and it is in there at the end of the race....you will be DQ'd. Pat, our Turn #2 flagger, will be reporting to the tower as the cars are entering the track at the next race. We will take note if a driver has a mirror in their car...and that will determine if they are going to receive points at the end of the race....simple as that.

If you pull into tech after the race and remove the mirror in an attempt to hide it....same rules apply...DQ.

I'll restate this once again... WE DO NOT WANT TO DQ DRIVERS!!!! The rules are the rules are the same rules for each and every driver. If you choose not to follow the rules, you are still subject to the full extent of the rules, including a DQ.

Vote away! I want to see the final outcome of this poll! We will not be changing the rules DURING the racing season....however, if majority rules, this subject will be brought up at the end of the season rules meeting and will be revisited.... I don't want to change rules mid-season.

"No" is winning :lol:

I'm hope these drivers breaking the mirror rule are actually going to be dq-ed...not just warned race after race.
