This upcoming Saturday Donny Lia will hop into Wayne Anderson's Eastport Feeds entry. If you had your choice, which driver without a ride (doesn't have to be a modified driver per se) would you put into the red and black No. 15?

On June 19th or 26th, Greg Sacks, on the 25th anniversary of his last win at Riverhead (June 22, 1985) which I also believe was his last win in a Modified.

You need guys that are going to be able to fit in the car without changing much, Gloor IV good driver but too much to change over. J-Rod would be a good fit and good driver, that's why Showtime was put in the car too! George and Lia have size to them too. I'll go out of state and pick Woody Pitkat, just to be different.

Wayne Anderson. He IS the 15.

It has been very interesting sitting next to him in the stands during these last 2 races. (I cringed that first night when i realized he was determined to get up to the top of the stands with us). You can see that fire and interest to want to get into the driver's seat.

Regardless, I was shocked that he was ammenable to this approach of filling the seat.

Jimmy is an awesome choice. Tis a shame that he had the misfortune of being in a race with no yellows. He put the 15 on both sides of one of top mods, and certainly felt he had the outside groove for a possible next time. Grandpa Blewett was growling to him over the phone before the race 'to bring it home in one piece'.

I had not met Georgie B before last Saturday. What a nice young man. He had not driven at Riverhead since he was 16 and won rookie of the year honors. Gawd....you probably couldn't tell it, because the approach was basically to give him practice time on 100 lap tires, but this kid can drive! The crew was kicking themselves that tires werent bought.

I'm certain Donnie Lia is gonna have fun this week. Imagine 2 tour champions getting together, then again that's what happened with Georgie in the 15 also.

There have been some very interesting names bantered about. Albeit no one from the Riverhead list I've seen above. One of these names said, yes, but that was too late because Jimmy had already jumped at the chance. He would have certainly opened some eyes and drawn big interest in the race.

Hopefully most weeks they wil be a 15 in the field. We'll thank Wayne and crew for this.

But it won't truly be the 15 until Wayne Anderson is back inside.

JR told me he's taking time off and rather race on the southern tour with a new Troyer. Less stress for him, he seems to be enjoying himself helping in the pits.

Donnie lia is the best choice by far that is why he was chosen as the driver

The Bullfather

What's that got to do with what "he" told me? Looking at photos from South Boston the car doesn't appear to be any of The Gershow modifieds we are familiar with, it maybe his #6 car which is also sponsor by Gershow with a different body. Car was also under Pen Fair Service Chevrolet. Maybe they bought a new one, maybe the green car was redone, maybe they are just a sponsor.....lots of maybes! The car looked like a Bear Motorsports machine with the number pattern and body style. But what he told me, he doesn't want to race this year and if he had a choice he would want to race on the Southern tour!

Just to clear things up.. just spoke to Josh Nichols and he asked me to clarify that he was in "his car, his trailer, with his crew". He was the #2 and sponsored by Gershow Recycling and had Joe listed as the car owner, other then that it was all his people with his equipment. :)

Next few weeks could be interesting and maybe we'll see Wayne back in Victory lane and maybe with him behind the wheel if he's allowed by doctors orders. The time trail race could see the team back in victory lane! Hopefully we'll get announcement soon of the future drivers and hopefully one will be Wayne himself, he's itching to get back behind the wheel!

This week's driver might even be better, not sure if I can let the cat out of the bag, I'll leave that too the team or if they let Finan know! A different driving style then Lia's but so is Jimmy Blewett! lol Heard he maybe pegged in for the tour race. Wayne said he's been enjoying himself watching these impressive drivers behind the wheel and can't wait to be cleared to go, so he can show these guys he's still got it!

Then why mention it here??? Just for attention???

:wave:over here!:wave: Attention: I wrote it because we're talking about drivers who we'd like to see behind the wheel of the #15 and whose has done a good job so far! Lia of course is going to get the nod over Blewett but he's not a bad choice either and can get it done! I spoke with Wayne Saturday and he told me who "will" or "should" be in the car, if all works out. I didn't write the drivers name because of respect to the crew if they'd like to keep it secret or if the deal is not totally finalized. But it will be a real good driver!

After watching Nationwide Friday night, Greg Sacks in a modified, one time only would be interesting to say the least!

I've known Wayne away from the track for years before I ever got involved with covering racing action. Have you ever been in any of our conversations? How about sitting with the crew and talking in the trailer? Let just get back to point of thread and have fun, let's stop taking everything so serious because no one is racing locally are in it for the money, it's a hobby that we all love and is part of our lives. I wrote it so we could have fun with it, let the speculation simmer in people's mind and be creative that is all what was meant by it! Maybe Ryan Newman! But that's a far push!

Bob Finan, always the consummate broadcast journalist, sent me a message that he had just got off the phone with the owner of the No. 15 - Wayne Anderson. And, behind the wheel this week, for the ultra-special 77-lap Baldwin, Evans, Jarzombek Memorial, will be "Showtime" Jimmy Blewett. Blewett is also slated to use Anderson's No. 15 as a 14 (for owners' points purposes) for the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour show on July 31.

However, for those who like to dream, we can always have fun thinking of who could be in the No. 15. :)

I'd love to see Rgee and the Bullfather in the car at the same time. Richie can work the pedals, and take pix with his hands, while Peter works the steering wheel, and shifts. Peter can attach his video camera inside the car for some awesome in-car video, and maybe audio. I know the 2 of you would do a bang up job.:)
