Don't cross the 6 cyl. off your list just yet. They usually have lower car counts than the 8's or 4's so it's a little easier to get started off in. Both a 4 cyl. or 6 cyl. car shouldn't be too hard to find. IMO the 8 cyl. are the most fun and the most challenging but at's all great really.

When you look for a car first off look for a reliable car. Buy something you know will start up and be able to run a full race. As far a performance look around the pits during the next enduro and just ask around. You can also check the classified's here, many people are selling used enduro cars. they may not look pretty but they already have all the work done and that makes your life alot easier.

At this point in the season, there's only about 3,4 races left. (None in July)
If you wait to the end of the season, that is a great time to check the JAM classifieds.
Alot of people jump into different divisions, and or get out all together....and sell cheap.
It's a great time to get a racecar already gutted, and fairly ready to race.
The other benefit is that you will have the whole off season to tweak it,fix it,
check it out, paint it, and assure it's race ready.
Then, the biggest plus is early April, the track gives the Enduro divisions 2 practice
sessions in which it is a GREAT way to learn how to get around the track.
You usually get about 25,30 laps each session, sometimes more.
Good luck.

Get a good running 4cy, don't worry about the condition of the body (standard or auto who cares) gut it and weld a couple of safety bars in it. Then go out and race the crap out of it and have fun. Worry about being competitive and where you finish after you have been in a few. If you always wanted to do it, go out and race. You will have as much fun as anything you have ever done!!!!
