Bechtelsville, PA (July 4, 2010)-A group of hardcore enduro drivers and fans headed to Grandview Speedway on Sunday for the running of the annual NEETS “Firecracker Smacker” enduros. Dave Bentley, Sr. took the 4-Cylinder victory and Tim Pauch continued his winning ways and took the victory in the Savage 61 Dodge 6/8-Cylinder event. Untouched throughout the event, Linsey Rummel grabbed the Ladies’ victory.

Steve Sapp sat on the pole for the 104-lap 4-Cylinder enduro and quickly surrendered the race lead to Art Kulik. In his dirt track debut, Larry Spencer III got by Kulik on the third lap and then began to pull away from the rest of the field.

Spencer held the point for 41 laps until he began to slow, which allowed Mike Hires, Sr. to take over the lead. Gary Grim then challenged him and overtook Hires for the top spot. However, Steve Todorow was coming up hot and heavy and passed Grim to take a commanding lead.

The red flag was thrown for Spencer who had been in fourth position and was taken out of the event.

Racing commenced with Todorow still in the lead, but he was forced to make an unscheduled pit stop and that put Dave Bentley, Sr. into the top spot. Bentley was never seriously challenged by the end of the show and went on to take the checkers over Rich Page, Phil Levering, Kulik and Pete Wharton.

When the big cars hit the track for their 107 laps, it was Jason Brown on the pole, who took lead of the slippery start of the race. After numerous lead changes within the first 20 laps it was Pat Hires who would emerge as the race leader who set a blistering pace for the rest of the field.

As the battle for second place heated up between Chuck Detweiler, Howie Bott and Tim Pauch, disaster struck Hires as he hit the back stretch wall and had to park his mount in the infield.

Pauch took command of the race and never looked back as he took the victory over Shawn Naftzinger, Doug Ott, Shon Elk and Detweiler.

The 15 lap Ladies Race started with Linsey Rummel on the pole, who blasted off to a terrific lead over the rest of the field. Jen "Punchy" Schwager was in a distant second when the battle for third position heated up between Stephanie Kramer and Carrie Pyle.

With Pyle trying both the high and the low lines, Kramer would not be denied and fended off Pyle to the end of the race, which had Rummel taking the win followed by Schwager, Kramer, Pyle and Jessie Maurer.

The next NEETS event is the “Granduro 3” , which is slated for Sunday, August 1st at Grandview Speedway. The entire 2010 NEETS schedule, full results and points standings van be viewed by visiting www.neetsracing.com.
