Classic cars, custom cars, muscle cars and street rods will get most of the attention this Friday evening (July 9) at Wall Stadium as the shore speedway presents its third “Friday Night Cruise Night” of the season. The event, scheduled to start at 5:00 p.m. is free of charge for both participants and spectators and will be featured live on News 12 News Jersey.

Plans call for all of the special cars to be parked in the large, paved pit area at the speedway. Food will be available from the speedway’s refreshment stands and participants will get the chance to cruise around Wall Stadium’s famous third mile high banked oval as the track’s pace car will lead groups of cars around the track though out the evening. Several of the speedway’s racecar drivers also plan to display their machines and meet with those from the surrounding community during the evening.

Then on Saturday night (July 10) auto racing fans will be treated royally as promoter Jim Morton has announced a “Pack the Track” promotion offering young fans five and under free admission, children 6 through 11 a $6 admission and fans 12 and older admission for just $10. Spectator gates open at 4:00 p.m., qualifying will start at 5:15 p.m., an “On Track Party” begins at 6:15 p.m. and main event racing starts at 7:30 p.m.

“The economy is tough for everyone these days and I just wanted to offer a real affordable night to allow everyone a chance to come to the races,” Morton said. “I hope everyone can spread the word and take advantage of this special night.”

The Supreme Manufacturing Modifieds will battle in a 40-lap feature race on Saturday; the Sportsman cars, Street Stocks and the Legend Cars will race in 25-lappers and the Factory Stocks will battle in a 20-lap feature. An “On Track Party,” where fans will be welcome to walk the speedway and get an up close look at every car parked on the track, will be one of the highlights of the evening.

On Sunday (July 11), the fifth mile paved “inner oval” continues the 2010 “Sunday Series” featuring Go Karts, wingless Midgets, Legend Cars, Bandoleros and Micro Stocks starting at noon. Grandstand admission is free on Sunday and more information is available by calling 732-681-6400 or visiting http://www.wallsundayseries.com.

Wall Stadium presents professional motorsports events on most Saturdays and Sundays during the summer months. The speedway is located on Route 34 in Wall Township, N.J., just one mile north of Garden State Parkway exit 98 and Interstate 195 exit 35B. The speedway hotline number is 732-681-6400, while more information is also available at www.wallspeedway.com (http://www.wallspeedway.com).
