View Full Version : Steve Smith severely injured

Last night Steve Smith was severly injured in a motorcycle accident and was airlifted to Stonybrook University Hospital. He was waiting to make a turn when he was blasted from behind by a vehicle that fled the scene. Steve suffered multiple compound fractures, a lacerated liver as well as a broken Pelvis, Collar bone and several ribs. For those of you that don't know the Smith family, they are avid racing fans. Steve has painted numerous cars in almost every division. His brother Billy, (Wild Child Graphics) has also done extensive lettering on many cars. Steves dad "Smitty" has straightened a lot of frames. They are always willing to lend a hand at the track or in the shop. If you are in the Stonybrook area, stop by and wish him well. His stay is most likely to be lengthy, followed by a long recovery period.

Went up there a lil while ago,,hes probably the best you could hope for after being hit hard by 2 cars, but still severely hurt. Their monitoring his liver cause 1 of his broken ribs pierced it thats one of the main concern besides all the compound fractures, separated shoulder and numerous broken bones. The guys lucky to be alive. The good thing is he can move his toes, and didnt lose any limbs. He's in good spirits joking and complaining about how thirst he is cause he's not aloud to drink yet cause of the liver. Good thing for morphine. Stevie's a tough dude, he'll hang in there.

Been keepin tabs on the situation since it happened.....Steve IS a tough kid...hes from the neighborhood, we were taught that in elementary school...lol...he'll pull through. Now, about the one that fled the scene...:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes: I got nooooooo problem wreckin my junk!

Steve would like to thank everyone for the calls and the get well wishes,he really appreciates everyone that has came by to see him.
He has had his ups and downs since Friday night, but is doing so much better. He has amazed the doctors to be moving forward with his recovery so quickly.
They surgery's he has had have been going very well. and is going to be having more surgery tomorrow to repair some more broken bones.
He still has a long road ahead of him in the coming months. But is in great spirits.
My Family and I would like to thank everyone for there thoughts and prayers through this very rough time.
