SPENCER WET FOR THE SECOND TIME IN 2010

Racing was canceled last Friday, July 23, when a line of heavy showers swept through Central New York . It was the second time in 2010 that racing had to be canceled due to the weather.

“Not only had the rains pounded us in the early afternoon, but the weatherman was calling for a 60% chance of the rains continuing into the evening,” stated promoter John White . He added, “We are looking at rescheduling the Twin 25’s for the Sunoco Modifieds sometime in August.”

Only six more oval track races remain on the calendar at Spencer in 2010. The season final is scheduled for Friday, September 3 with a 100 lap Race of Champions Modified special on tap. For more information about Spencer Speedway and the Drag strip go to www.spencerspeedway.org (http://www.spencerspeedway.org).

This Friday, July 30 will see the ACOT Midgets join the action with the Sunoco Modified division and a complete program of Street Stocks, Super Sixes and Auto Value Scorpions. The Super Sixes will be running for double points.

Race time remains at 7:30 p.m. sharp. Prior to the start of the racing program the kids will take to the track for their second kid’s bicycle races of the year. Kids will need a bike and a helmet. They need to register at the track office by 6:45 p.m. , and be on line to race at 7 p.m. sharp.
