MAIN EVENTS GET GREEN FLAG AT 7:30 P.M.

After a popular race format debut last Saturday evening, Wall Stadium will again present “Twin 20’s” for the Supreme Manufacturing Modified stock cars this Saturday night (July 31). In addition, Sportsman racers, Street Stocks and Legend Cars will compete in 25-lap feature races, while the Factory Stocks cap off the evening in a 20-lap main event. Spectator seating will open at 4:00 p.m., with qualifying set for 6:30 p.m. and main event racing scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

Although defending Supreme Manufacturing Modified champion Chas Okerson of Freehold is currently at the top of his game, he will have plenty of competition in his quest for Modified “Twin 20” glory and a second straight crown. Freehold’s Steve Reed and Jackson’s Kevin Flockhart were winners last Saturday evening in “Twin 20’s” action, but competition will also come from Roger Coss of Lafayette, Shaun Carrig of Little Falls, Tim Arre of Toms River, Farmingdale’s Billy Cole and David Reinhardt of Neptune City, just to name a few.

While 2009 champion Kevin Eyres of Colts Neck will lead the Sportsman field in Saturday’s companion 25-lapper, standouts Robert Sutphin of Brick, Charlie Kremer III of Toms River, Kevin Davison of Howell, 2009 “Rookie of the Year” Andrew Krause of Holmdel and last week’s winner Eric Mauriello of Howell will be among those offering competition.

In the INEX Legend Cars ranks, Willingboro’s Trevor Alspach and his brother Zack Alspach are sure to be at the front of the pack, while point leader Howie Conk of Jackson attempts to stretch his slim advantage in the Street Stock 25-lapper. Rob Longo of Wall, the track’s first ever Flanagan Retail Development Factory Stock driving champ and current point leader, will be going after his fifth win of the season in the 20-lapper this Saturday night.

The current schedule for the July 31 card will see the competitor pit area open at 1:00 p.m., with a paid testing session for competitors then running from 1:30 until 3:30 p.m. The regular afternoon practice session will then begin at 4:00 p.m., while spectator seating will open for the first time this season at 4:00 p.m. Qualifying will start at 6:30 p.m. before main events roll out onto the track at 7:30 p.m.

On Sunday, the fifth mile paved “inner oval” continues the 2010 “Sunday Series” featuring Go Karts, wingless Midgets, Legend Cars, Bandoleros and Micro Stocks starting at noon. For more information call 732-681-6400 or visit http://www.wallsundayseries.com.
